In my college, one of the students in BTech 3rd year 1st sem was having a makeup exam and and he was looking for guidance in learning Java. We gave the spoken-tutorial CD material on Java, and gave explanation on the contents of the CD. After the exam he came and told that the spoken tutorial CD on java helped him a lot and that he developed confidence in Java by going thru all the tutorials and doing the assignments. He also told that the video tutorials cleared most of his doubts on java and helped him in passing the makeup exam.

GIMP & INKSCAPE were programmes that aimed at teaching students advanced computer skills.

We are very grateful to Spoken Tutorials for connecting with VIDYA and helping us impact the lives of these students, by providing them these opportunities, which otherwise they would not have had access to.

We, VIDYA Computer Learning & Resource Center (CLRC), have partnered with Spoken Tutorial since 2 years now. Most of the VIDYA's trainers have learnt GIMP & Inkscape. Inkscape is extremely useful to us and we have become very proficient in poster-making and creating colourful awareness & class decor posters.

CLRC students find the industry recognized certificate very useful. Our school partnership school teachers also get trained in creating posters using Inkscape during summer vacation. This year, we integrated GIMP & Inkscape in our "Beyond School Computer Curriculum" for 6th & 7th std respectively.

Thank you Prof. Kannan & Nancy for introducing us to such a wonderful self-learning platform. We are still exploring & will most likely use the platform to its fullest potential for VIDYA's beneficiaries.

I am doing my Masters in Computer Science in the United States of America. Here I have to do my projects using Ruby, Python, Java and all my projects are documented only using LaTeX. All my papers are written using LaTeX. Now I really feel the usefulness and importance of using LaTeX. As I had no knowledge about Python I just tried the tutorial of IITB which you gave me. I have to tell you the clarity and detail they explain each topic. We cannot deny that the Internet has many tutorials. But I felt this was the best. I shared this tutorial with my other project members. They just loved it. In the course of time you wouldn’t believe the whole class is using this tutorial. I am really feeling proud to be an Indian and your student. I really understood what open source means. Like we use windows people here use Linux and Mac. Also, my university is specialized in security track so also got to learn about KALI and Backtrack which is completely based on Linux.

I just happened to watch your 5 youtube videos on Biopython. I must say I found them very useful and therefore would like to request you to make some more of such Videos. Your Videos are to-the-point and teaches the practical applications of the Biopython Tools very clearly.

Jmol is highly useful for teaching organic structures, especially of macro molecules like proteins etc., Hot potatoes was v much interesting and useful to teach chemistry to students. My student's project " Effect of FOSS, jmol and hot potatoes on teaching-learning process of chemistry of class XI B of KV, Minambakkam" is bestowed with Regional ICT Award. Excellent and highly useful!
